Obsidian is a glassy volcanic rock, usually black or dark brown. Snowflake Obsidian’s white and gray patches formed where the volcanic glass became devitrified. Obsidian is generally considered a stone of protection (especially psychic) by grounding ourselves and clearing negativity. Snowflake Obsidian’s approach to protection is a bit different, however. Instead of helping us separate ourselves from the negative energy around us, it assists us in meeting the negativity by being present in our truth and standing in our power.
